Billboard and Digital Billboard Growth in 2021
In a study by the Out of Home Advertising Association of America (OAA), the amount spent on billboards was up 38% in Q2 of 2021 across all industries. This growth was lead by an 80% increase in the amount spent on digital bulletins and posters. Notably, industries leading the way were

- Insurance & Real Estate
- Media & Advertising
- Restaurants
- Government Politics and Organizations
- Public Transportation Hotels and Resorts
- Financial
- Automotive Dealers and Services
- Schools Camps and Seminars
As more companies trend back to billboards like bulletins and posters, they also are increasing their spending in the category. 80% of top 100 spending companies increased their budgets. With this, over half of those companies doubled their budget from previous years. 20% of the top 100 budgets increased ten-fold, including companies such as AT&T, PostMates, Credit Karma and DoorDash.
